About Us ...

About Us

Our Mission

To provide emergency assistance to Howard County individuals and families in need.

Our Values

Faith- we see God's living presence in every person we serve.

Dignity- we affirm the dignity of each individual by offering respect, compassion, and care.  Community- we work in the community towards the well-being of all, especially the poor and vulnerable.

Service- we create opportunities for parishioners to offer their gifts to those in need.

Our History

The St Vincent de Paul Society is a world-wide organization dedicated to providing human services to needy individuals and families without regard to race, religion, or national origin. The Society meets basic needs, while inspiring hope and empowering persons to reach their fullest potential. The Society advocates for the needy, promotes their dignity and self-worth, and strives to walk with them, learn from them, and see in them the presence of God.

On September 25, 1997, the Resurrection Conference of the St Vincent de Paul Society (SVDP) was established for the purpose of providing emergency assistance to Howard County, Maryland residents who come to the parish for assistance.

In 2022, the Resurrection and St. Paul Parish Conferences merged when the two parishes became a pastorate.

Help

Volunteers are at the heart of the Society's work. Individuals participate in hands-on service to bear witness to their faith, and experience personal and spiritual growth through empowering persons to reach their fullest potential at SVdP.

If you'd like to volunteer, Email us at: svdp@res-ec.org
