SSSMILE Village, Kerala, India

Who do we serve?

We serve 120 people of varying ages who were previously homeless.

What do we do?

We provide solidarity and financial support to give the people an environment where their dignity and worth are affirmed. This includes eco-friendly living with shelter, food, and medicine for as long as they need it.

When do we do it?

We sponsor several poor boxes throughout the year.

The annual Evening in India takes place each year the Saturday after Easter Sunday.

Where do we serve?

All fundraising activities take place at Resurrection. We would someday like to schedule a trip for interested parishioners to go to SSSMILE Village.

Ministry history

SSSMILE (which stands for Sacred Scripture’s Social Message into Lived Experience) Village is located in southwest India, in the State of Kerala, Resurrection Parish has been supporting  supporting SSSMILE Village since 2004.

Fr. Antony Plackal, VC, a former Superior General of the Indian Vincentians, founded the village in 2000. Our parishioners have
helped fund a bus, construction of homes, vocational training center, drinking water well and cemetery. We are currently fundraising to help contruct housing for the elderly.
